WHAT IS MEAD
Did you know that you can make wine from honey? Did you know its called mead? In simple terms, mead is honey fermented into wine. Instead of grapes, which most wine is made with, we use honey as our fermentable sugar.
TRADITIONAL MEAD VS. SESSION MEAD
The main difference between traditional and session meads is the alcohol strength. Session Meads are less than 9% ABV and typically carbonated. What makes a session mead is primarily refreshment and drinkability. Any style of mead can be made lower in alcohol strength. The goal is to reach a balance between style character and lower alcohol content. At Randy Buzz, we make our session meads dry, while still maintaining honey flavor. Our traditional meads are dry, still and between 12% - 14% ABV. Randy Buzz Traditional Meads are designed to drink smooth and finish clean.
